Change the filter (more often than you think)
In dust season a filter can clog in a month. A clogged filter costs money and strains the system.
A clogged filter makes the blower work harder and the coil freeze up. In Arizona, check it monthly in summer and after every dust storm.
Which filter?
A pleated MERV 8 to 11 is right for most homes. Thicker isn’t always better: some systems can’t push air through a very dense filter.
